At my age, many people are likely to get married. May wedding is favored by many brides and bridegrooms, including my two best friends. Moreover, wearing wedding dresses is their must-do when take wedding photos.

First of all, you can ask shop owner when you buy wedding dress, such as what’s the dress made of? Is there anything special to be paid much attention to the beads and small sequins? I think the owner will tell you without reserve. Now let me come to the point! Wash wedding dress is the most important! No matter what the material of the dress is, professional washing is necessary. You’d better soak it in warm water with a neutral cleaner for a little while. By this, kinds of stains can be got rid of. It can’t be dry-cleaned, because beads and sequins can’t stand erosion of chemicals.
Then, don’t dry it in the sun! Hemline, beads, sequins and decorative flora will fall off, and color will fade especially for red wedding dress. Well-ventilated place is the best.
Next, we come to the key step–keep! We shall put it in a cool, dry place, such as wardrobe or under the bed. Sometimes, gap is needed to ensure good ventilation. For purified cotton wedding dress, ventilation shall be appropriate. Too much oxygen will destroy cotton fiber, and fully sealed environment will make it go moldy. Remember not to hang it directly! As time pass by, the dress will transfigure or tear. If you intend to hang it, you shall wrap the rack with cotton batting of primary color. You can find this batting at the fabrics shop or Tailor’s. Then put the dress in a cotton canvas bag with good air permeability and hang it. Generally speaking, wedding dress shall be folded up. Add acid-free material on the fold, and put linings in upper part and sleeves. At last the dress shall be kept in a big acid-free box.
There’re two problems you can’t omit. One is you shall wash your hands before store the dress, because stains in your hands will dirty it. The other is hoops inside the dress shall be reversed. When air it every year, you shall restore the hoops to avoid loss of its elasticity.
If you lend your wedding dress to your sister or wear it at your wedding anniversary, you shall sterilize it with ultraviolet rays plus ozone after use. After all, wedding dress is your most beautiful, happiest and sweetest memory. You have absolute reason and ability to take good care of it. Every time you see it, you will be excited as you were when wore it for the first time. It’s kind of feeling, enjoyment and infatuation!
